The 45th edition of the prestigious QubicaAMF Bowling World Cup got underway on Sunday morning, Nov. 15, 2009, with the men's and women's official practice at the Melaka International Bowling Center in Melaka, Malaysia. As the 52-laner is split in two sections, each qualifying block will be divided into two blocks with 4 games being bowled on lanes 1-26 and 4 games on lanes 27-52. The 45th QubicaAMF Bowling World Cup will be held from Nov. 13-20 in Melaka, Malaysia. The 45th QubicaAMF Bowling World Cup will be held at Melaka International Bowling Center in Melaka, Malaysia. Team USA members Walter Ray Williams Jr. (pictured left) and Tennelle Milligan (right) enter the 2009 QubicaAMF World Cup next week hoping to address a couple of issues. The newly-built 52-lane Malacca InÂÂterÂnaÂtional Bowling Centre, which will stage the 45th QubicaAMF Bowling World Cup from Nov 15-19, has received mixed reviews from national bowlers Zulmazran ZulÂkifli (l.) and Siti Safiyah Amirah Abdul Rahman (r.). The duo, who will represent Malaysia in the tournament, took to the lanes for a two-hour practice session on Tuesday. Zulmazran said he was generally satisfied with the lane conditions there.
Licensors of the PBA Tour for Eurosport, KPTV of London, has announced the biggest ever global audience for the 45th QubicaAMF Bowling World Cup in Melaka, Malaysia. Not only will this prestigious event be shown live across Southeast Asia on Nov. 19th, KPTV CEO Phil Mison (pictured) has also secured broadcasting deals for the Eurosport audience (6 hours of programming) and, for the first time, across all-Africa through the Supersports channel. KPTV anticipate further interest from other territories in the build up to this year's event, 
2005 World Cup Champion Michael Schmidt of Tyndall, Manitoba, and Montreal, Quebec's Caroline Lagrange (pictured) are days away from a trip around the globe to represent Canada in the bowling world's annual gathering of nations, the QubicaAMF Bowling World Cup. Malaysia will Schmidt's fourth World Cup in 5 years. Lagrange is a newcomer to the World Cup's international level, USBC silver level coach Sandy Lowe, Lindsay, Ontario, will
accompany the young Canadian talent to Malaysia.
Daniel Falconi (l.) and Sayuri Yamada (r.) claimed the men's and women's title in the high-scoring Copa Mexico 2009 and will represent their country in the 2009 QubicaAMF Bowling World Cup. In the championship match in best-of-three game format, Falconi, the No. 2 seed, swept tournament leader Enrique Gutierrez, two-games-to-none, while top seeded Yamada came back from being down 0-1 to defeat No. 2 Iliana Lomeli, 2-1.
There is now just a month to go to the start of the 45th QubicaAMF Bowling World Cup in Melaka, Malaysia, and the tournament could just be in for a record. The final qualification tournaments are taking place with the final names coming in and it looks as if the 2009 BWC might equal the record of 95 participating countries set in Singapore in 2004.As usual, QubicaAMF will be running a series of seminars alongside the
tournament on lane care, pinspotters and pro shop operation in addition
to the very successful bowling center management school.
Isabelle Sacco (l.) and and her brother-in-law, Thierry Sacco (r.) will represent France in the 45th QubicaAMF Bowling World Cup in Melaka, Malaysia. The duo already represented their country in the 2005 World Cup in Ljubljana, Slovenia. Isabelle, who his married with Thierry's brother Francois, also participated in 1998 (Kobe, Japan), 2000 (Lisbon, Portugal) and last year (Hermosillo, Mexico), while Thierry bowled in Caracas, Venezuela, in 2006.
