Team USA member Derek Eoff (l.) holds a comfortable 131-pin lead after both men's squads have completed 12 out of 24 games of qualifying in the 44th QubicaAMF Bowling World Cup. Eoff felled 2790 pins and averaged 232.50 over his 12 games. Hussain Al Suwaidi led Squad B on Monday afternoon to leap into second place with 2659 (221.58). Russian Nikita Koshelev (r.) set the highlight when he posted the second 300 game of 2008 QubicaAMF Bowling World Cup. The men will continue on Tuesday at noon and 4. p.m. with the third qualifying block. 
Team USA member Derek Eoff (pictured left) rolled a 1450 six-game series Monday at Bowl 300 in Hermosillo, Mexico, en route to lead men's Squad A after 12 games with 2790 12 -game total and an average of 232.50. With 41 out of 82 players having completed 12 games, the 3-time gold medalist in the 2007 Men's American Zone Championships holds a comfortable 134-pin lead over Luis Rodríguez from Puerto Rico. First block leader Martin Larsen, Sweden, fell two spots behind a 1259 series today. The 41 players from Squad B led by Canadian Jack Guay take on the 32 lanes at Bol 300 at noon. 
Colombia's Sara Vargas thrilled the big audience at Bol 300 in Hermosillo, Mexico, when she posted the first 300 game of the 44th QubicaAMF Bowling World Cup and the seventh by a woman in the history of the Bowling World Cup. The 2006 World Ranking Masters champion, who traveled to Hermosillo as a spectator, was added to the tournament roster when travel complications forced Colombian qualifier Rocio Restrepo to miss the trip. Zara Glover of England (left) fired a huge 1424 six-game series Sunday at Bol 300 in Hermosillo, Mexico en route to shoot into the lead in the women's division at the 44th QubicaAMF Bowling World Cup. The multiple World and European champion, who won the European Champions Cup last month, had games of 278, 244, 184, 200, 278 and 240 and the highest average of all competitors, both men and women, with 237.33. 82 men and 63 women representing 85 countries from around the world, their families, friends and guests, dignitaries, sponsors and local bowling fans were among the hundreds of people who turned out to see the 44th QubicaAMF World Cup kick off Saturday night at Bol 300 in Hermosillo, Mexico. Jack Guay (left) from Canada rolled games of 221, 214, 247, 196, 238 and 221 to set the pace in the opening squad in the 44th QubicaAMF Bowling World Cup at Bol 300 in Hermosillo, Mexico. Guay, who became the first player in the history of the event to hit a perfect game in 1994 edition also in Hermosillo, had a 1337 six-game total and an average of 222.83. The top 6 players had more than 1300 pins and 22 out of 41 players in this squad averaged 200 or higher. Squad A will take on the lanes at noon, while the women will start competition at 4 p.m. 
The qualifying for the 44th QubicaAMF Bowling World Cup starts on Sunday morning at Bol 300, a brand new 32-laner in Hermosillo, Mexico. The field of 82 men and 63 women representing 85 countries has been divided into two men's squads and one women's squad. Squad B will take on the lanes at 8 a.m. local time for the first six-game block in the preliminaries. Squad A will follow at noon, while the women will start competition at 4 p.m. All competitors, men and women, will bowl four six-game blocks (24 games overall) over four days before the field is cut to the top 24 in each division on Wednesday.

The 44th QubicaAMF Bowling World Cup starts on Saturday morning at 8 a.m. local time with official practice at Bol 300, a brand new 32-laner (pictured) in Hermosillo, Mexico. The 89 men will be divided into two groups. Group 1 bowl from 8 to 9.15 a.m. and Group B will follow after the men's briefing from 10.15 to 11.30 a.m. The 65 women will also be divided into two groups, which will be sandwiched around the women's briefing from 12.30 to 1.45 p.m. and 2.45 to 4 p.m. The official practice will be followed by the Opening Ceremonies and the Welcome Reception scheduled for 5 p.m. and 6 p.m., respectively.

The Tenpin Bowling Federation of India, TBF (I), has announced that Rahul Solanki will be India's representative in the men's division of the 44th QubicaAMF Bowling World Cup. The prestigious event will be held at Bol 300 in Hermosillo, Mexico from Nov. 7-15, 2008. "In was always my opinion that tenpin bowling is a sport in which India has the ability and potential to have world-class athletes and hopefully champions in future. We hope that Rahul will be able to inspire others and contribute to the growth of the sport in our country", added Mr. Karti P. Chidambaram, President, TBF (I).
Top French bowlers Isabelle Sacco (nee Saldjian) and husband Francois Sacco, who got married in August, have booked their trip to the 44th QubicaAMF Bowling World Cup at Bol 300 in Hermosillo, Mexico (Nov. 7-15, 2008). The couple won the French BWC qualifier October 19 and 20 at Orgeval, a state-of-the-art bowling center 15 miles west of Paris, which opened its doors in April. 64 men and 32 women advanced from regional eliminators to the final.
Blanka Hanusíková and Karel Kutina won the women's and men's QubicaAMF World Cup Qualifier at AMF Bowling in Pardubice, Czech Republic and will represent their country in the QubicaAMF Bowling World Cup in Hermosillo, Mexico. 102 players battled it out for the two tickets to Hermosillo at the 18-laner in Pardubice from Sep. 19-21, 2008.
