Alexander Tarsoly leads Squad 8 with 1268 to move into second place in Munich

    Hungarian and Squad 9 leader Christian Seidl (GER) are save for Sunday's finals; Dirk Dreyer (GER) holds on to the lead with 1282; score to make the cut in 50th place surpasses the 1100-mark (1105; 184.17 average)

    Alexander Tarsoly won his second 200-Euro bonus Wednesday afternoon at Dream-Bowl Palace in Munich, Germany, as the Hungarian posted a 1268 six-game series to lead squad 8 in the 6th Track Dream-Bowl Palace Open by Erdinger.

    Tarsoly (above left, receiving a 200 Euro bonus for winning Squad 8 from tournament organizer Manuel Mrosek), who led Squad 6 with 1210, improved by 58 pins behind games of 214, 213, 235, 211, 184 and 211, an average of 211.33, to leap from ninth to second place in the overall qualifying standings.

    2015EBT11DirkDreyer.jpgBy virtue of finishing squads 8 & 9 in first and second place, Tarsoly and Christian Seidl of Germany, who led Squad 9 with 1264 to leap into fourth place, earned automatic spots in Sunday's finals if they don't finish in the top 50 in qualifying.

    Former German national team member Dirk Dreyer continued to lead the 96-player field from 13 countries with 1282 total and an average of 213.67. His compatriot Marcel Wagner slipped to third place with 1267.

    2015EBT11TannerSpacey.jpgTanner Spacey (left), United States, a regular on the European Bowling Tour, was the only other player who cracked the top 10 on Wednesday. Despite starting with 163, Spacey finished second to Tarsoly in Squad 8 with 1232 and an average of 205.33 to overtake ninth place.

As qualifying nears the halfway mark, Wolfgang Kossin, Germany, holds the 50th and last spot to advance to the finals with 1105 or an average of 184.17.

    Qualifying continues Thursday, July 23, with Squads 10-12 scheduled to start at noon, 4 and 8 p.m. Central European Summer Time (CEST).

    2015TrackDBPOpenLogo_small.jpg The 6th Track Dream-Bowl Palace Open by Erdinger is the 12th stop of the 2015 European Bowling Tour season and the second of three EBT "Gold" tournaments this season. The tournament will be held July 18-26 at 52-lane Dream-Bowl Palace in Unterföhring near Munich, Germany.

    The Track DBP Open offers total prize fund of 70.000 Euro with 7.000 Euro going to the winner, 5.000 to the runner-up, and 3.000 and 2.000 Euro to the third and fourth place finisher, respectively. Final cash spot is 64th place to pay 600 Euro.

    The tournament features a 40-feet lane conditioning pattern with 25.92 ml volume oil total.

    Qualifying (six-game series, unlimited re-entries) runs from Saturday July 18, through Saturday, July 25, with the last qualifying squad 20 scheduled for 8 p.m. Central European Summer Time (CEST).

    The winner of squad 1-9 each receive a 200 bonus, squad 10-16 winners get 350 Euro and the winners of squad 17-20 earn 500 Euro.

    Qualifying concludes with the one-game Desperado Squad slated for 11.30 p.m. Women receive 8 pins handicap each game (maximum is 300) throughout the entire tournament, a standard for women on the European Bowling Tour.

    Total 64 players will advance to the finals on Sunday, July 26, including the top 50 from the overall qualifying standings plus top 2 of Squads 8 & 9, top 4 of Squads 1-7, top 4 from the Desperado Squad and top four from a "High-Low" list (two-game total of lowest and highest game; additional 10 Euro per squad).

    The top 8 qualifiers earn two byes moving them into the Round of 16, while qualifiers 9-16 receive a first-round bye having to compete in the Round of 28.

    The finals will kick off with three four-game rounds, each beginning from scratch, which will trim the field to 36, 16 and then four players. Those four will carry over their pinfall total into the eliminator-format finals featuring three one-game rounds.

    All four players bowl the opening game, with the lowest-scoring player after five games being eliminated. In the two rounds to follow, the same "low man out" format applies. The last man standing will be declared the champion.

    2015EBTLogo_small.jpg The 2015 European Bowling Tour currently consists of 17 tournaments in 13 countries featuring three "Platinum" events, three "Gold", three "Silver" and eight "Satellite" events. All 17 tournaments together offer total prize fund of 870.000 Euro or 961.500 U.S. Dollar.

    The top 50 men and the top 50 women in each event receive ranking points. Those points will be tabulated throughout the season to determine the top 12 men and top 12 women, who will compete in the 9th EBT Masters July 25, 2016 at Rose'n Bowl in Serravalle, San Marino following the 12th San Marino Open.

    Top 50 from the overall qualifying standings plus top 2 of Squads 8 & 9, top 4 of Squads 1-7, top 4 from the Desperado Squad and top four from a "High-Low" list will advance to the finals.

    Tie Rules (Qualifying)
    In case of a tie in the qualifying, "the highest positioned player will be the player scoring the highest total of all counting qualification games minus the score of the lowest game. If a tie still exists, the highest positioned player will be the player with the highest total of all counting qualification games minus the score of the two lowest games, etc."
