Lahti Bowl in Lahti, Finland (Oct. 10-18, 2009)

8-time PBA champion Mike Koivuniemi (pictured left), Finland, earned the No. 1 seed for the TV finals in the Ebonite Lahti Open at Lahti Bowl in Lahti, Finland.

Koivuniemi, who targets to win his second EBT title this season and the third of his career, finished the preliminaries atop the leaderboard with 2284 pinfall total or an average of 228.4 over ten games.

Tomas Leandersson (right), Sweden, slipped one spot in Round 3 to finish second with 2205. In the opening match, 4-time PBA champ Mike Wolfe, United States (2191, below left), seeded third, meets #4 Jari Ratia, Finland (2095, below right).

The winner of the opening match takes on Leandersson for the right to bowl Koivuniemi for the title. All stepladder matches are single game matches.

The Ebonite Lahti Open is the 12th stop of the 2009 European Bowling Tour and one of the Tour's "Challenger" events. The tournament will be held from Oct. 10-18, 2009 at Jouni Helminen's fully renovated Lahti Bowl in Lahti, Finland, and offers an increased total prize fund of 49.200 Euro, or about 72,500 U.S. dollars. The winner will receive the 8.000 Euro top prize.
