Tracy Luncsford wins U.S. Women's Open qualifying tournament in Rockford, Ill.

    20101128TracyLuncsford.jpgTracy Luncsford (pictured) of Des Plaines, Ill., captured the Hammer Illinois Women's Open Sunday Nov. 28 at Don Carter Lanes in Rockford, Ill. to earn a spot in the 2011 Bowling's U.S. Women's Open. Luncsford defeating Plainfield's Nikki Lunsford, 275-255, in the position round match to seal the victory.

    Luncsford, who had a 5-1 match play record and 2,915 pins including match play bonus pins, received $750, a paid entry into the 2011 Bowling's U.S. Women's Open to be held June 24-28 in Euless, Texas, a custom-made jewelry set from Matt Cole and an EFX performance bracelet. Lunsford, who finished with 2,827 pins, earned $600.

    The Hammer Illinois Women's Open was the first of five U.S. Women's Open qualifying tournaments sponsored by the brands of Ebonite and organized by Lisa Vint, Publisher of the Windy City Bowling News.

    The second event will be the Ebonite Joliet Women's Open at Town & Country Lanes in Joliet, Ill., on Jan. 2.
