E.J.Tackett, Huntington, Indiana has been voted as the July 2018 Kegel Bowler of the Month by the International Bowling Media Association.

Tackett won two PBA titles in July, the PBA Xtra Frame Parkside Open in the month’s first week, then the 19th PBA/PWBA Storm Striking Against Breast Cancer Mixed Doubles in the month’s final week.

The 2016 Chris Schenkel PBA Player of the Year defeated Bill O’Neill, Langhorne, Pennsylvania, 210-171, for the first title of the month and his tenth career PBA title (featured photo).

Tackett’s second title of the month was with partner Liz Johnson (right), capturing one of the premier mixed doubles tournaments in the world today. Johnson/Tackett defeated Jason Belmonte of Australia, and Diandra Asbaty of Chicago in the position round of match play, 420-406, to claim Tackett’s 11th PBA and Johnson’s 20th PWBA title.

With the tenth title, Tackett became the fourth-youngest to reach double-digit PBA titles. Pete Weber reached it at 24, while Mike Aulby and Wayne Webb at 25. Tackett turned 26 in early August.

Also receiving votes this month were Michael Haugen, Jr., winner of the PBA50 River City Extreme Open, presented by Ebonite, Jesper Agerbo, Denmark, winner of the European Bowling Tour (EBT) Track Dream-Bowl Palace Open, by Erdinger, Norm Duke, winner of the PBA50 Security Federal Savings Bank Championship, presented by Track, and Liz Johnson, Tackett’s partner in the Storm PBA/PWBA Striking Against Breast Cancer Mixed Doubles.
