First block leader Reija Lunden from Finland, who was the squad leader on short oil with 1936, added a 1652, 8-game series on long oil (43 ft.), to remain atop the women's leaderboard after Day 2 with 3588, 16-game total and an average of 224,25.
European rankings champion Kamilla Kjeldsen leaped four spots into second place behind the third-best 1787-series today. The Dane checked in with 3540 pinfall total. Germany's Martina Beckel remained in third position after posting a 1725-total today with 3519. Fourth place belongs to Swede Helen Johnsson, who fell two places behind a 1669-series, with 3510.
Defending champion Diandra Asbaty, USA, slipped one spot to fifth. The Team USA member, who is also the reigning World Masters Champion, felled 3464 pins overall. Liza Del Rosario from The Philippines is still the top-ranked Asian bowler in sixth place. Del Rosario moved up four spots behind a 1751-set and 3454 pinfall total.
Clara Juliana Guerrero, Colombia, remained in seventh position with 3443. Asian ranking champion Shalin Zulkifli, Malaysia, leaped sixth places into 8th with 3439 thanks to the second-best 1794-score today. The top 8 after the third and final block on Thursday will advance to the single-elimination best-of-three-game finals.
