Paul Moor (pictured) beat Stuart Williams, both of England, two-games-to-none in the final match of the inaugural Storm English Open en route to win the 11th stop of the Brunswick Team England ranking season. In the best-of-three games match play final, Moor won a close opener, 183-179, and then stormed to the title in game two with a huge 246-195.

Americans Tim Mack and PBA Hall of Famer Brian Voss cracked the top ten in the qualifying of the 2nd Gutperle Viernheim Open 2006. Mack felled 1375 pins to move into fifth place. Rainer Puisis from Germany and former PWBA champion Liz Johnson, United States, moved into first and second place in the qualifying of the 2nd Gutperle Viernheim Open 2006 presented by STORM on Tuesday. Puisis overtook the lead with 1404 pinfall total, while Johnson (pictured left), the first woman to appear in a PBA championship round, is second with 1394 pinfall total including 48 pins handicap.

Three of the 17 women in the field, Martina Beckel, Germany, Ivonne Gross, Austria and Kirsten Horemans, Belgium posted the high scores on the first two days.

The 2nd Viernheim Open 2006 presented by STORM is the 15th stop of the 2006 European Bowling Tour and for the first time one of its "Major" tournaments. With 100.000 Euro or app. US$126,360 total prize fund the Viernheim Open is the "richest event" on the EBT Tour. The tournament was supposed to be the 15th event of the 2007 European Bowling Tour schedule.

29-year-old Helen Johnsson (right) from Sweden won the European Masters final against Britt Brøndsted (left), Denmark, two-games-to-one, despite taking a dive in the ninth frame of the final frame. Choosing to play on short oil first, Johnsson defeated the Europe's No. 1, 268-214 in the first game, leaving only a single pin the 5th frame and in the 11th.

Not this time as the Swedish ladies, who shot a record 6371 six-game total on short and long oil condition, a 212,37 average, were eliminated in a newly contested semifinal by the Dutch team and had to settle for the bronze medal.

England's Fiona Banks (pictured) cruised to victory in All Events to capture her second gold medal at the Women's European Championships after winning in the Trios event. Banks posted a new championship record of 5443, an average of 226,79 for 24 games. Mai Ginge Jensen, Denmark, was second, with Patricia Schwarz, Germany, third. The top 24 advanced to the Masters finals.

Leading after both three-game blocks on short and long oil, the trio defeated Denmark's Britt Bröndsted, Mai Ginge Jensen and Kamilla Kjeldsen in the championship match, 611-568.
Ron Oldfield and Jacqui Cooper, England, walked away the winners in the the men's and women's Belgian Senior Open at bowling center Bowlmaster in Bruxelles, Belgium (not Sergio Bellini and Lena Dahlgren as inadvertently reported earlier by Bernard Mora).

When Rob Kendall lost his first two-game title match, 438-372, against reigning European ranking champion Paul Moor in the QubicaAMF London International, the question had to be asked. 'Would we see a repeat of last year?' Kendall was the only undefeated player in this year's double-elimination format and had to be defeated twice in the final.

In the semi-finals, Ljung sidelined team mate Martin Larsen, 226-194, while Mack eliminated Lasse Lintilä, Finland, 176-152.
The eighth season of the European Bowling Tour (EBT) will consist of 22 tournaments, 8 Challengers and 14 Majors - in 16 countries.The total prize fund of the 2007 EBT will exceed 1.2 million Euro or approximately 1.5 million US dollar.
