2006MorichOUDCaseHoffman.jpg Ron Case of Oakley, Calif., and Larry Hoffman of Fountain Hills, Ariz., shot the highest series thus far in the MoRich Over and Under Doubles Championship en route to lead the second qualifying squad with 1346 six-game total and an average of 224,33.

Case, the UNDER 50 player, rolled games of 205, 248 and 215 for a 668 series. Hoffman started with 219-215 and finished with 244 for 678. Though both players know each other very well, it is the first time that they bowl together.

"I called Larry a few month ago and asked if he wanted to bowl the MoRich Double with me", Case said. "We are both on staff with Roto Grip and have met in many of the megabuck tournaments."

"This event is a great warm-up for everything this week.," Hoffman added. As the squad leaders, the duo received two byes into the third round of the finals, worth $2,000.

Roger Painter, Woodbride, VA, and Rick Benard, Henderson, Nev., were second with 1338 and booked their spot in the finals Round 1 and guaranteed a minimum of $1,000.

Pete Thomas, Oklahoma City, Okla., and Mark Estes, Grapevine, Texas, finished third for the second consecutive squad, this time with 1305 pinfall total. Forth place belonged to Kerry Painter, Henderson, Nev., and Team USA member David Haynes, Las Vegas, with 1279. Both duos earned $800 each.
