Tim Mack from Garfield, New Jersey and Terry Leong from Las Vegas survived four rounds in the finals of the MoRich Over and Under Doubles Championship en route to claim the title and the $10,000 top prize.

In the championship match, Mack (278) and Leong (222) fired a 500 series to defeat Rhino Page of Lawrence, Kan., and Warren Nelson of Madera, Calif., 428, and Scott Pohl of Burnsville, MN, and Ron Mohr of Eagle River, Ark., 426.

"I'm getting stronger", said Mack, who still bowls with a 14.0 lbs bowling ball after a shoulder surgery. The former team USA member, who has won numerous titles all over the world, was glad to have his wife Brenda, a former PWBA champion, and his mother watching his triumph.

"It's great to have your family with you when you win a title", Mack added. "And I have to earn some money for my family". The Macks will have a baby in November.

Mack and Leong were Doubles partners in the 1999, 2000 and 2002 ABC Tournament. "Terry is great partner. He's not gonna bowl a bad game."

2006MorichOUDMohrPohl_small.jpg 2006MorichOUDPageNelson_small.jpg The decision for second and third place was made with the very last ball. Former U.S. National Amateur champion Rhino Page spared the 4-7 combination to give him and his team mate Warren Nelson a two-pin advantage over 3-time USA member Scott Pohl and Ron Mohr. Page/Nelson (left) won $5,000 for second place, while Pohl/Mohr (right) pocketed $3,000 for third place.

The MoRich Over and Under Doubles Championship was the first of five big events during the nine-day Mini-Eliminator week. The 13th annual Mini-Eliminator will start on Monday, July 3 at 10am with the first of 22 qualifying squads. The finals we take place on Sunday the 9th with the winner walking away with a huge $25,000 first place check.
