International bowlers set high scores in Squad 7 at the Mini-Eliminator

Kim Ko Woon (left) from South Korea and megabuck tournament champion Lasse Lintilä (right) from Finland set the highlights Wednesday morning in the 10am squad at the 13th Annual Mini-Eliminator qualifying. Kim posted the highest 3-game series in the 7th out of 22 squads with 743 to lead the 35 and under Division.
Lintilä, the 2004 Super Bowl Mini-Eliminator champion, shot 732 to advance from the Open Division. Both squad leaders earned one bye for the finals on Sunday afternoon, worth $1,000 apiece.
Pete Thomas, Oklahoma City, OK, also rolled a 700-plus series to lead the 36 to 49 Division with 719. 1 a 616- series by Kerry Painter from near-by Henderson, NV, was enough to lead the 50 and over division, while Ed Regehr, Hesperia, CA, easily won the 205 and under division with 651.
Qualifying continues with two more squads at noon and 2pm. The five Division Daily Leaders will earn two byes and guaranteed $1,500.
