Diandra Asbaty leads Mini-Eliminator qualifiers at halftime

Jay Futrell, Derby, Kan., overtook the daily lead in the 35 and under Division with 678 three-game total in the second qualifying squad on Thursday, 11th overall, in the 13th Annual Mini-Eliminator. Futrell earned one bye for being the squad leader and is guaranteed $1,000.
With eleven out of 22 squads in the books, U.S. National Amateur champion Diandra Asbaty leads the entire field with her 746-series, which she posted in the fourth squad on Tuesday morning.
Other squad leaders include Scott Oliver, Agawam, MA, in the 36 to 49 Division, 661; Phil Prieto, El Paso, Texas, in the 50 and over Division, 640; and Kim Bolleby from Sweden in the 205 and under Division, 604.
Chip Collins, Fayetteville, NC, led the Open Division with 674 but was already qualified. He earned a free re-entry and reigning U.S. National Amateur champion Dan Patterson, Phoenix, AZ, advanced to the finals with 673.
Qualifying concludes with the 2pm squad. After that the second Lane #1 Match Play Shootouts will take place at The Orleans Bowling Center.
