Former German international Wolfschaffner makes it to Mini-Eliminator finals

Peter Wolfschaffner from Munich, Germany, is a familiar face to Mini-Eliminator promoter Steve Sanders. The Bavarian, who travels to the Las Vegas megabuck tournament since many years, rolled a 615-series to lead the 205 and under Division in the noon squad worth $1,000.
Wolfschaffner, who was on the German national team in the early 90s, will have another chance to cash in the Mini-Eliminator this evening, as he has qualified for the Brunswick Shootout finals starting a 7.30pm. The Brunswick Shootout finalists will bowl for over $42,000 in cash prizes.
Other squad leader in the 17th out of 22 qualifying squads in the 13th Annual Mini-Eliminator were Michael Colby, Agawam, MA, who leads the 35 and under Division after two squads with 665. Jay Watts, Omaha, NE, led the players from the 36 to 49 Division and tied previous squad leader Bob Belmont for the daily lead with 692.
Daniel Emmett (pictured), Las Vegas, became the first player to advance with a sub-600 score from the 50 and over Division with 593. Hong Kong's Wu Siu Hong won his second Open Division squad an got a free re-entry, while second-placed Finn Osku Palermaa got the bye. However, Siu Hong holds the daily lead in this division with 661.
Qualifying continues on Saturday with two more squads at 2pm and 4pm.
