Lislien, Wright and Hoffman overtake daily division lead in 2pm squad

Norwegian Ole Johnni Lislien (left), Steve Wright (right), Cypress, Texas, and Team USA member Bill Hoffman, Columbus, Ohio, overtook the lead in their respective division during the 2pm qualifying squad on Saturday afternoon - the 18th squad overall - en route to earn at least one bye (worth $1,000) for the Mini-Eliminator finals as one the qualifying squad leaders.
From Monday through Friday, those three would have been the Division Daily Leaders but Saturday offers a fourth squad at 4pm. The Division Daily Leaders receives an extra bye and an additional $50. Wright led all bowlers with 721, while Hoffman had 679 and Lislien added some more international flavor to the Mini-Eliminator finals when he shot 631 in the 205 an under Division.
Paul McCordic, Sugarland, Texas, led the 50 and over Division with 595 and Larry Darvas, E Atlantic Beach, NY, shot 656 to top the 35 and under Division.
At 7:30pm the 65 players, who advanced through Friday's qualifying will take on the lanes at The Orleans Bowling Center for the Brunswick Shootout finals. All finalists, who earn a minimum of $250, except the Division Qualifying Leaders (2 byes), will bowl a one game match within their division. Round One matches will be determined by the qualifying series.
The winners keep on advancing and earning more money. The Division Qualifying Leaders will enter the finals in Round 3 and bowl the lowest seeded remaining bowler in their division. After 4 Rounds one bowler will be left in each of the five divisions. These final five bowlers, which are guaranteed no less than $2,000, will bowl in a one-game shootout match for total $14,750.
