Two former U.S. National Amateur champions advance to Mini-Eliminator finals

Scott Norton, Cypress, Calif, and Andrew Cain (pictured), Scottsdale, Ariz., both former U.S. National Amateur champions, advanced to the finals of the 13th Annual Mini-Eliminator later this afternoon at The Orleans Bowling Center in Las Vegas, Nevada.
Norton, son of USBC Hall of Famer Virginia Norton, rolled a 672 3-game series to lead the 20th of 22 qualifying squads in the 35 and under Division. Cain had a 624 series to advance from the Open Division. Both players earned a bye worth $1,000.
Other squad leaders include Eduardo Legorreta, Tijuana, BC Mexico, (641 in the 36 to 49 Division), Daniel Emmett, Las Vegas, NV (709 in the 50 and over Division) and Lynn Broadway, Sumner, Texas (618 in the 205 and under Division).
Qualifying will continue with two more squads at noon and 2pm with the finals starting immediately afterwards.
