Canada will compete at 2007 Men's American Zone Championships

Canada's national men's team will compete in the American Zone Men's Championships which will take place at Guatemala City, Guatemala from May 28 through June 1, 2007.
Fifteen countries in the Americas are expected to take part in the competition which includes singles, doubles, trios, team event and a match play masters event.
Competition will take place at Metro Bowl. Guatemala last hosted an American Zone Championships in 2004 when the American Zone Youth Championships were also held at Metro Bowl.
This is the first time the American Zone will conduct separate championships. The men's and women's championships have been held together in the past. The women's championships are scheduled for Santiago de Chile in 2008. The American Zone will also hold a conference at the Clarion Suites on May 26th.
Team members who earned their berth on Team Canada at the 2006 National Championships are: Darren Klassen, Winkler, Manitoba, Joe Ciach, Mississauga, Ontario, George Lambert IV, Hamilton, On., Ray Vervynk, Whitby, On., Jean Sebastian Lessard, Quebec City, Quebec and Corey Clayton, Calgary, Alberta.
Lucien Casagrande, Winnipeg, Manitoba will coach the team and Damien Skellings, Calgary, Ab. will serve as team manager and delegate. By Hazel McLeary, Public Relations Coordinator.
