Canadian national team to participate at PABCON Men's Championships

Canada's national men's team will compete at the Pan American Bowling Confederation (PABCON) Men's Championships which will take place in Guadalajara, Mexico from May 8-13, 2011.
Twenty-seven countries in the Americas - Argentina, Aruba, Bahamas, Bermuda, Bolivia, Brazil, Canada, Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, Cuba, Dominican Republic, Ecuador, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, Mexico, Netherlands Antilles, Nicaragua, Panama, Paraguay, Peru, Puerto Rico, United States of America, Uruguay, Venezuela, and Virgin Islands - are eligible to take part in the Championships.
Competition includes Singles, Doubles, Trios, Team events. Medals will also be given in All Events decided by individual total pinfall in the four disciplines. The top 16 in All Events will advance to Masters match-play which will conclude the Championships.
Competition will take place at Bolerama Tapatio, a 42 lane center. Bolerama Tapatio will also be the site of the bowling competition for the Pan American Games in October.
Team members who earned their berth on Team Canada at the 2010 National Championships are: Art Oliver, Hamilton, Ontario; Mark Buffa, Montreal, Quebec, George Lambert IV, Hamilton, Ontario; Dan MacLelland, Windsor, Ontario; Mike Schmidt, Winnipeg, Manitoba; and Jack Guay, Calgary, Alberta.
Lambert IV (pictured left) and MacLelland (right) are now living in the US as members of the Professional Bowlers Association. Lucien Casagrande, Winnipeg, Manitoba will coach the team.
The Pan American Bowling Confederation will hold an Extraordinary Congress on May 7, 2011. Cathy Innes, Surrey, British Columbia, President of the Canadian Tenpin Federation, will attend as Canada's delegate. Innes, an alternate director of PABCON'S board of directors, will also attend a board meeting on May sixth. Innes will also serve as team manager.
