Tobias Börding remains unchallenged; continues to lead men's qualifying after 10/20 games

First round leader Tobias Börding (pictured left) of German added 1136 to his 1305 first-block series to easily maintain his lead in the men's division at the 50th QubicaAMF Bowling World Cup after 10 of 20 qualifying games.
The Squad B leader toppled 2441 pins, an average of 244.10 for ten games, to hold a 97-pin lead over Oron Cohen (right) of Israel, who had an 1134 series in Squad A, which concluded the second round Wednesday night at Sky Bowling Center in Wroclaw, Poland.
Oron, who had games 255, 225, 279, 217 and 158, maintained second place with 2344 total. Squad C leader Chris Barnes, United States, leaped one spot into third place with 2335.

Biboy Rivera, Philippines slipped one spot behind an 1127 series and is tied for fourth place with Romeo Gagenoiu (left) of Romania at 2330. Gagenoiu rolled games of 258, 239, 266, 227 and 237 for 1227, an average of 245.40, to become the fourth male bowler in this year's event who surpassed the 1200-mark.
Sixth place belonged to Mykhaylo Kalika of Ukraine with 2321 followed by Magnus Johnson (right) of Sweden in seventh place with 2306, who joined Gagenoiu in the 1200-club with 1212.
Rounding out the top 8 as the 82-player field has reached the halfway mark was England's Steve Thornton with 2282.

Syafiq Ridhwan (left) of Malaysia, who won the 48th edition of the World Cup two years ago here at Sky Bowling Center in Wroclaw, rolled the field-best 1248 series, an average of 249.60, to rocket from 32nd to 10th place with 2270. Ridhwan registered games of 247, 206, 258, 258 and 279.
Two-time World Games gold medalist Bader Al-Shaikh (right) of Saudi Arabia currently holds the 24th and last place to advance to the intermediate round with 2133 total or an average of 213.30.
For comparison, the score to make the cut in the qualifying two years ago was 4177 or an average of 208.85 for 20 games.
The men will return on Thursday for the third block of qualifying. Squad C will start at 8 a.m., Squad A will follow at 2.30 p.m. and Squad B will conclude the day at 9 p.m. CET.

Live coverage and live streaming commences on Tuesday, November 4th, with the first round of qualifying and concludes on Sunday 9th with the stepladder finals.
The preliminaries consist of four blocks of five games with the top 24 men and the top 24 women after 20 games advancing to the intermediate round. Those 24 players bowl further 8 games with the pinfall total from the preliminaries being carried forward.
The top 8 men and the top 8 women after 28 games will bowl a further seven games round robin match play plus one game position round (total 8 games) with 30 pins bonus per win and 15 for a tie.
The top 3 men and the top 3 women after 36 games including bonus pins will determine the champions in the stepladder finals in best-of-three games format.
