« Michael Mak, Han Kyeo Rae triumph in ABF Tour Hong Kong leg

Williams, a six-time European Bowling Tour champion who finished the 12-game preliminaries before the cut to the top 3 for the stepladder finals in second place, downed No. 3 Osku Palermaa of Finland in the opening match, 245-209, and then flew past tournament leader Jesper Svensson of Sweden, 238-168, to capture his first Masters title.
Deja-vu for Palermaa and Svensson, who also finished second and third last year after falling to Williams’ fellow countryman Paul Moor.
On the women’s side, Sin Li Jane, who finished second in the San Marino Open yesterday, had the highest average, men and women, in qualifying with 234.42 to earn the No. 1 seed for the stepladder final.
In the opening match, third-seeded Birgit Pöppler of Germany, who finished second in 2014 and third in 2015, defeated No. 2 seed, Britt Brøndsted of Denmark, 230-193. In a high-scoring title match, Sin Li topped Pöppler, 259-246, to secure the title.
The EBT Masters treats men and women equally with 3.000 Euro each going to champions Williams and Sin Li. The first runner-ups, Svensson and Pöppler, received 2.000 Euros apiece and the third-place finishers, Palermaa and Brøndsted, pocketed 1.700 Euro.
The 8th EBT Masters, which featured a 30.000 Euro prize fund (15.000 per gender), was the season-ending event of the 2015 European Bowling Tour. The top 50 men and the top 50 women in each event earned ranking points based on how they finished in the events.
Those points were tabulated throughout the 2015 EBT season to determine the top 12 men and top 12 women who qualified for the EBT Masters. All players bowled 12 games in two six-game blocks with the top 3 advancing to the stepladder finals.
