Three out of the top 8 in the European Bowling Tour men’s ranking reached the match play finals in the Odense International, the 9th of 12 events on the 2018 Tour finishing second (Carsten Warming Hansen, Denmark), fifth (Thomas Larsen, Denmark) and eighth (Francois Louw, South Africa).

Larsen (featured photo), who sits in third place in the EBT point ranking with 419 points narrowed the gap to leaders Anthony Simonsen (right), United States (469) and Jesper Svensson (left) of Sweden (422) to 50 and 3 pins, respectively.

Hansen (right) leaped one spot into fourth place with 391 and was followed by Rafiq Ismail of Malaysia (370), Richard Teece of England (321) and Pontus Andersson of Sweden (318). Louw (below left) remained in eighth place with 287.

Odense International winner Arnar Davið Jónsson (below right) of Iceland is tied for 81st place with the 50 points he received for winning the EBT “satellite” level tournament, the lowest of five EBT tournament categories (platinum, gold, silver, bronze and satellite).

The European Bowling Tour commences with the EBT “platinum” Storm Lucky Larsen Masters, which already got underway August 25 and runs through September 9 at Baltiska Bowlinghallen in Malmö, Sweden.

After the Aalborg International has been canceled, the 2018 European Bowling Tour features 12 tournaments in 10 countries including two “platinum”, two “gold”, three “silver”, two “bronze” and three “satellite” events, which will offer total prize fund of roughly 625.000 Euro.

The top 50 men and the top 50 women in each event receive ranking points. Those points will be tabulated throughout the season to determine the top 8 men and top 8 women, who will be eligible to compete in the 12th EBT Masters July 4, 2019 during the VII Brunswick Madrid Challenge at Bowling Chamartín in Madrid, Spain.
