There were no changes to the European Bowling Tour women’s ranking leaderboard in last week’s Odense International as the top 8 retained their spots in the hunt for the eight spots for the EBT Masters 2019.

Mai Ginge Jensen (featured photo) of Denmark was the lone top 20 bowler, who participated in Odense. The world and European champion finished in sixth place to lead the 28 women and to earn 50 rankings points in the EBT “satellite” event, the lowest of five EBT categories (satellite, bronze, silver, gold and platinum).

Jensen accumulated 556 in five of the nine tournaments this season to narrow the gap to leader Jenny Wegner (right) of Sweden (594) and second place Ghislaine Stigter-Van Der Tol, Netherlands (575), to 38 and 19 points, respectively.

Stigter’s fellow countrywomen Maxime de Rooij (445) and Nicole Sanders (338) remained in fourth and fifth place and were followed by Cherie Tan (left), Singapore (335), Cajsa Wegner, Sweden (319) and Bernice Lim, Singapore (304).

The top 8 at the conclusion of the 2018 season will qualify for the EBT Masters in 2019.

The European Bowling Tour commences with the EBT “platinum” Storm Lucky Larsen Masters, which already got underway August 25 and runs through September 9 at Baltiska Bowlinghallen in Malmö, Sweden.

After the Aalborg International has been canceled, the 2018 European Bowling Tour features 12 tournaments in 10 countries including two “platinum”, two “gold”, three “silver”, two “bronze” and three “satellite” events, which will offer total prize fund of roughly 625.000 Euro.

The top 50 men and the top 50 women in each event receive ranking points. Those points will be tabulated throughout the season to determine the top 8 men and top 8 women, who will be eligible to compete in the 12th EBT Masters July 4, 2019 during the VII Brunswick Madrid Challenge at Bowling Chamartín in Madrid, Spain.
