Martin Larsen, Glenn Morten Pedersen make the cut in the last squad at BEC

    Larsen fires 1474 series to secure a spot in the top 12; Pedersen hits the cutoff number for 52nd place with 1392 (232 average) and advances due to the higher last game

    Three-time World Champion and six-time European Bowling Tour champion Larsen fired games of 269, 221, 235, 265, 217 and 267 to lead the 15th and last squad with 1474 total, an average of 245.67, en route to finish qualifying in fourth place. The top 12 qualifiers earn one bye for the finals.

    The Norwegian national team member started with 9-spare, strike and another two single-pins spares needing a six-bagger and 9-spare for 248. Pedersen, who rolled one of seven 300 games this week, got the six-bagger and left a solid 8 on his second shot in the tenth frame.

    He got the spare for 248 to take the 52nd and last place to advance with Tangermann in 51st place due to his higher last game of 253. Larsen (224) and Amirah (188) missed the cut.

Jehkinen is looking for his first title on the European Bowling Tour.

    PBA Touring Pro Chris Loschetter (right), United States, who has two EBT titles to his credit, finished in second place with 1505, the only other 1500-plus series in the tournament. The next 41 bowlers have achieved a series of 1400 and higher.

    Three-time EBT champion Dennis Eklund of Sweden was third with 1497 followed by Larsen and England's Richard Teece, who was in fifth position with 1469. Mik Stampe of Denmark was one pin behind Teece in sixth place with 1468.

    Stephan Unger (right) was the best bowler of the host country Germany in eighth place with 1465 but the lower last game than Koh, 265 to 219.

    World Games and European Champions Cup winner Krista Pöllänen, Finland, is the second woman in the top 12 in ninth place with 1459 including handicap. The top three women after the qualifying, Koh, Pöllänen and 29th place Joline Persson Planefors of Sweden receive a 1.250, 750 and 500 Euro bonus, respectively.

    Fresh off his victory in Bahrain and a second-place finish in Kuwait, two-time PBA Player of the Year and seven-time European Bowling Tour titlist, Mika Koivuniemi (right) of Finland, finished qualifying in 11th place with his 1453 series of the first qualifying squad.

Barrett was seeded 12th and Aust was seeded 13th due to the higher last game, 251 to 246 in Barrett's favor.

    The top 52 qualifiers will be joined in Sunday finals by the top eight players from a separate leader board of the squads on March 19 & 20 (seeded 53rd to 60th) and the top four of the Desperado Squad (seeded 61st to 64th).

    2013BECLogo.jpg The Brunswick Euro Challenge is the fourth tournament on the 2013 European Bowling Tour schedule and one of only two "Platinum" events this season, the EBT's highest tournament category. The BEC is also the seventh stop of the World Bowling Tour and the second of three WBT events in Europe in 2013.

    For the first time in 10 years of BEC competition, Europe's richest tournament will be contested at Europe's biggest bowling center, 52-lane Dream-Bowl Palace in Unterföhring near Munich, Germany.

    The 106.000 Euro tournament, which runs from March 19-24, offers a 15.000 Euro top prize and a PBA International title if won by a PBA member.
