Swede James Gruffman leads the top 8 men into Round Robin Match Play in Munich

James Gruffman (pictured left) of Sweden has the pole position heading into the match portion of the 2013 Brunswick Euro Challenge, Europe's richest bowling tournament with total prize fund of 106.000 Euro.
The lefty, who is looking for his first title on the European Bowling Tour, averaged 253 for six games to lead the Round of 28 with 1518 pins including a 299 game. Gruffman leads the top players, all men, into the next round with the pinfall carried forward.
Jesse Kallio (right) of Finland was 23 pins behind to take second place with 1495. Two-hander Jason Belmonte of Australia, who targets his second win in Brunswick Euro Challenge after 2006, was third with 1490.

PBA Touring Pros Ronnie Russell and Chris Loschetter (left, r-l), United States, are both looking for their first PBA title in Munich. Due to an agreement between the World Tenpin Bowling Association and the Professional Bowlers Association, the World Bowling Tour event awards a PBA title if won by a PBA member.
Russell finished in fourth place with 1449, while Loschetter cracked the top 8 in the last game ending up in seventh place with 1409. Finland's two-hander Osku Palermaa and Germany's Stephan Unger (right) tied at 1425, good for fifth and sixth place.

Dominic Barrett (left) of England beat out Malaysia's Alex Liew for the eighth and last place to advance by four pins, 1405 to 1401.
All five women were eliminated in the Round of 24. Jazreel Tan (right) of Singapore won the women's ranking as she was the highest finisher in 17th place with 1332 including 48 pins handicap.
The seven-game match play round starts at 4 p.m. CET. The top three with the highest pinfall total including bonus pins (30 for each win, 15 for a tie) will advance to the stepladder finals.

The Brunswick Euro Challenge is the fourth tournament on the 2013 European Bowling Tour schedule and one of only two "Platinum" events this season, the EBT's highest tournament category. The BEC is also the seventh stop of the World Bowling Tour and the second of three WBT events in Europe in 2013.
For the first time in 10 years of BEC competition, Europe's richest tournament will be contested at Europe's biggest bowling center, 52-lane Dream-Bowl Palace in Unterföhring near Munich, Germany.
The 106.000 Euro tournament, which runs from March 19-24, offers a 15.000 Euro top prize and a PBA International title if won by a PBA member.
